Leonurus, also known as “motherwort,” is a medicinal herb that has traditionally been used in herbal medicine.
It is a perennial plant belonging to the mint family and has characteristic serrated leaves and small pink or purple flowers.
It is consumed as a tea made from the plant’s dried leaves and flowers. To prepare it, add 1–2 teaspoons of dried leonurus to 1 cup of hot water (not boiling).
Cover it and let it steep for about 10–15 minutes. Strain it, and it is ready to drink.
